If FlowCrypt has a problem connecting over the network, usually it will result in an error like this:
Couldn't send message due to a network error. Please check your internet connection and try again. (This may also be caused by missing extension permissions)
Upon seeing this error, make sure your network is up and not blocking FlowCrypt. If you’ve done that, but the error persists, take a look at the common issues below to see if one of them might be the culprit.
Site permissions & browser settings
In Chrome, you can edit an extension’s “site permissions” to deny its access to a domain. Firefox also has similar functionality. However, if you do this, FlowCrypt can break in unexpected ways. We don’t increase the extension’s permissions without careful consideration. So, in general, removing any permission renders the extension unusable for at least some users.
If you’ve changed site permissions, extension permissions, or customized your browser settings significantly, try changing them back and see if it works. Alternatively, use FlowCrypt in a freshly installed, uncustomized browser.
Other browser extensions interfering with FlowCrypt
Try disabling all of your other browser extensions and retrying. If the problem disappears, you can re-enable the extensions one by one, retrying to use FlowCrypt each time, to figure out which extension is causing the issue.

None of the above
