FlowCrypt for Android works with many email providers by supporting both provider-based sign-in and standard email protocols. This allows you to use encrypted email with popular services as well as custom or self-hosted mail servers.
Gmail (Standard Support)
Gmail is supported out of the box and offers the simplest setup experience on Android.
- Sign in using Continue with Gmail
- Uses your existing Google account on the device
- No manual mail server configuration required
This is the recommended option for Gmail users.
Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft Outlook accounts are supported through a dedicated sign-in option.
- Available under Other Email Provider
- Uses Microsoft’s sign-in flow
- No manual IMAP/SMTP configuration required
This works for Outlook.com, Microsoft 365, and many Exchange-backed accounts.
Yahoo Mail
Yahoo Mail is supported using standard email protocols.
- Sign in via Other Email Provider
- Uses IMAP and SMTP credentials
- May require generating an app-specific password in Yahoo account settings
Other Email Providers (IMAP/SMTP)
FlowCrypt also works with any other email provider that supports IMAP and SMTP. This includes custom or self-hosted email servers.
When using IMAP/SMTP, you will need:
- Email address
- IMAP server, port, and security settings
- SMTP server, port, and security settings
